FAQ
Where does the train go?
The engines and cars are "quarter-scale," meaning that they are one-fourth the size of full-sized engines and cars. We have a 1/2 mile oval of 15" gauge track on 5 acres. Rides are twice around the track.
Can adults ride the train?
Yes. The passenger coaches were built in the 1940s to transport adults and kids at the Israelite House of David amusement park in Benton Harbor, Michigan.
How often does the train depart?
Approximately every 15 minutes.
Is there a height requirement to ride?
Yes. Children must be at least 42" tall to ride without an adult. If they are under 42" tall, then the law requires an adult to ride in the same seat with the child.
Where are you located and how do I get there?
Our address is 11600 County Road 99, Findlay OH 45840. We are at the northeast corner of I-75 Exit #161 for County Rd. 99. Wherever you are coming from, find your way to I-75 and follow it to Exit #161. Click here for Mapquest.
Do you always run the Steam Engine 901?
No. It is our intention to run Steam Engine 901 for all special programs and on Sundays during the summer hours. However, weather conditions, maintenance needs, or other reasons may necessitate the substitution of Diesel Engine 101.
Do you ever close due to rain or snow?
Yes, but only under extreme conditions, such as a severe lightning/thunderstorm, a tornado warning, and Level 2 Advisory or Level 3 Emergency road conditions for Hancock County. Flood warnings do not affect our location. (For more info on this subject, click here.) If there is threatening weather predicted, a final decision whether to open or close will be made one hour prior to the scheduled opening time.
